Dragon Warrior

My take on an 8 bit game done as part of an drawing challenge with a group of fellow artists.
Dragon Warrior was the first RPG I played on the NES and was always a favorite childhood game of mine. Although the original Japanese version (Dragon Quest) was visually designed by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z) I was introduced to the Dragon Warrior world by the visualization of Katsuya Terada and Shuji Imai (Who also drew the "Howard and Nester" comic strip) through their illustrations in the pages of Nintendo Power. I though it was cool that I rediscovered these artists as I got older and liked them just as much, if not more.
Dragon Warrior is © 1989 Enix corporation.

My favorite one so far! That shadow on witch hat guy really makes him look extra solid.
