Usually I blow up my rough pencils (8 1/2" x 11" or so) to 11" x 17" and do clean line work before I scan and color them, but as a test I scanned the original pencils (this time done with a 0.3mm and 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil) as a base for this CG illo.
While working on this I was listening to an to an interesting audio book called "The Faith Instinct: How Religion Evolved and Why it Endures". (The author's previous book on genetics and the origin of man called "Before the Dawn: Recovering the Lost History of Our Ancestors" was interesting as well.) Good stuff. :)
